The National Costume Center SENĀ KLĒTS displays the unique and diverse traditional costumes of all five regions of
Latvia—Kurzeme, Zemgale, Augšzeme, Vidzeme, and Latgale. Traditional costumes are made as replicas of 19th-century costumes from museum collections. Costumes based on archaeological findings refer to clothing worn by tribal people in the territory of current Latvia around the 9th-11th centuries.
In SENĀ KLĒTS you can find high-quality artworks made by Latvian craftsmen: traditional and archeological linen
shirts, skirts, pants, coats, belts, jewelry, hats, mittens, socks, shoes,
fabrics, scarves, linen crafts, and ceramics. We also offer books about
ethnography, archeology, applied arts, Latvian mittens, knitted jackets, Estonian mittens, socks, and shawls.
You can visit our store at the Old Town
of Riga, Rātslaukums 1. Entrance from Mazā Jauniela. You will find many traditional handicrafts and learn about Latvian culture.
Our online store represents only a small part of the items we have in our SENĀ KLĒTS store, as most of them are handmade in small quantities.
