Acorn wreaths by Māra Krieviņa
The exhibition features acorn wreaths from all five ethnographic regions of Latvia carefully made by Māra Krieviņa.
The opening of the exhibition and the author's master class took place on October 28, 2020 with the support of the State Cultural Capital Fund.
The wreaths in SENĀ KLĒTS will shine until December 21, 2020.
The exhibition is extended until February 2021.

The fifth national costume parade will happen online
Latvian National Culture Center and SENĀ KLĒTS invites you to attend the virtual national costume parade on May 4, in order to celebrate the Restoration of Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia.
The event "Put on your national costume in honour of Latvia" is held in a virtual environment this year, emphasizing the freedom and power of tradition in spite of difficult times. On May 4 everyone is invited to dress up in national costumes and take a photo alone or with their family. Folk collectives or institutions are encouraged to prepare a photo collage with their members in national costumes in advance. The photo must be published at 12 o'clock on the social networking site "Facebook", adding the hashtag #tautastērpugājiens. The hashtag will be confirmation of participation in the virtual march, as well as permission for the organizers to later use the images to create a video. The video is intended as a documentary testimony to this unusual celebration of May 4 - a confirmation of the special role of the national costume in strengthening national traditions, raising community self-confidence and the ability, without breaking the tradition, to adapt to such an unusual time as this one.
Representatives of the Latvian diaspora from different parts of the world are invited to add their pictures throughout the holiday. Anyone who does not have the opportunity to do so in the specified time together with the others is also invited to participate by uploading the photo at another time.
Monta Grasmane, head of SENĀ KLĒTS, emphasizes that May 4 is an important national celebration and an appropriate moment to dress up in national costume. "National costume is a symbol and pride of Latvia, it is one of the foundations of our traditional culture. It is the national costume that most clearly characterizes the local uniqueness, which has been formed in the regions of Latvia under the influence of various historical circumstances, giving the opportunity to see fine craftsmanship skills, the unique sense of taste and color," says Monta.
This year, the parade is organized by the Latvian National Culture Center, the National Costume Center SENĀ KLĒTS and the association "Mans tautastērps".
