Exhibition "Latvia and its national costumes" in Liechtenstein 

Compatriots and friends of Latvia, we inform you that this year on October 23 at 18.00 The opening of the exhibition "Latvia in national costumes" will be held in the Liechtenstein National Museum in Vaduz. At the opening of the exhibition, we will have the honor of welcoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sports and Education of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Domenik Hasler, and listening to a lecture by the director of the Latvian National Cultural Center, Signe Pujāte, about Latvian folk costumes, as well as tasting Latvian delicacies.

The exhibition will be on display at the National Museum of Liechtenstein until February 23, 2025.

The Principality of Liechtenstein is the last stop of this magnificent exhibition celebrating Latvian traditional cultural heritage and Song and Dance Festival traditions, before it returns to Latvia after traveling through Slovakia, Austria and Liechtenstein.

Exhibition "Latvia and its national costumes" in Austria

In March 2024, the exhibition "Latvia and its national costumes" ("Lettland und seine Volkstracht") was opened in Klagenfurt, Austria. It presents the regions of Latvia and the craftsmanship of Latvian handicraftsmen, as well as the history of Latvians and the unique tradition of the Latvian Song and Dance Festival.

The exhibition was opened by Reinhart Rohr, president of the Landtag of Carinthia, Klagenfurt city officials and Signe Pujāte, director of the Latvian National Cultural Center. During the opening of the exhibition, Ambassador Guna Japiņa emphasized that both Latvians and Carinthians have the tradition of maintaining the applied art heritage, and by nurturing it, it is possible to truly understand the meaning of a united Europe. During the exhibition, Klagenfurt will also show master classes of Latvian handicraftsmen and a short film about the 2023 Latvian Song and Dance Festival, which was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the tradition. The exhibition is on display in the historic Landhaus premises until March 18 as part of the annual Easter holiday program of handicraftsmen organized by the Carinthian Folk Heritage Society.

The exhibition is organized by the Latvian National Cultural Center in cooperation with SENĀ KLĒTS, ''Latvieši pasaulē" - museum and research center, the Latvian National Library and the choir "Lōja".
